Respect Delegated Authority In 1 Samuel 15, King Saul is rejected by God as being a king of Israel simply because he did not regard Prophet Samuel with the respect he should have. Prophet Samuel came to him and essentially said, “This is what the Lord wants you to do.” Saul did not follow the words of the prophet all the way through because King Saul did not regard the prophet’s delegated authority.
