Since God leads us through our spirits, the more sensitive we are
to our own spirits and follow our spirits, the more success we’ll experience.
We must develop, train, and educate our spirits. This is done
by feeding and meditating on God’s Word, by acting on God’s Word,
by fellowshipping with God in prayer, and by obeying what God
says to our spirits. We become sensitive to our spirits and to the Spirit
of God by taking time to speak in other tongues on a daily basis.
Not only does God lead and guide you through your spirit, but
the faith of God is in your spirit, not in your mind. To stay hooked up
to your spirit is to stay hooked up to the arena of faith. You stay in
the arena of faith by letting your spirit take the lead, not your mind.
You stay in the arena of faith by speaking God’s Word from your
spirit. As you stay in the arena of faith, you will overcome every
opposition of the enemy. The enemy doesn’t want you to stay in the
faith arena; he wants to draw you from the arena of faith, the spirit
arena, into the mental arena, which is the realm of reason.
The mind is Satan’s chief battleground. Your greatest battles will
be in the mental arena. He attacks the mind to try to hold you in the
mental arena and out of the spirit arena, which is the arena of faith.
If the devil can hold you in the mental arena, he’ll whip you. But if
you hold him in the spirit arena, the arena of faith, you’ll whip him.
You hold him in the arena of faith by answering wrong thoughts with
the Word of God from your spirit, and then praising God for His
Word.

Fear of the Lord-Pastor David Hoffman
My brother, Mark, and I have a group of people in our church
who have a gift of prayer. These people have a gift of praying.
They set out to pray and an hour later they are still in prayer.
The Lord wakes them in the middle of the night and they pray
for three or four hours. Prayer seems to come easily for these
brothers and sisters. It comes easy because God has given them
a special gift of intercessory prayer.
Not so for me! Developing the discipline of daily prayer has
been a struggle—it seems something always gets in the way. I
expect that it will be a lifelong struggle for me but it is one I will
endure because I want God’s power, strength, wisdom, and
anointing in my life and that only comes through prayer.

to do. You will make wrong choices if you are not asking God to
guide you. If you want to live a victorious life in Jesus
Christ...able to overcome any obstacle...you must develop the

How do you renew your mind with God’s Word? You feed on
His Word, meditate on God’s Word (think deeply into, mutter it to
yourself), and act on it, making it a part of your everyday life. You
bring that Word into your daily thoughts, and into your words and
actions (Joshua 1:8). Before you address a situation or a problem in
your life, develop the habit of first asking yourself, “What does the
Word say about this?” Then act in line with the Word. You realize
that the Bible is not only a Book to be read, but it contains God’s
Words that are to be lived; they are instructions to you for your
everyday life. It is God speaking to you. It is what you govern your
life by. You are a doer of what the Word says.
