3) Pay attention Your children need you to pay attention. I asked my children, “What is the main responsibility I have to you?” They told me, “You need to listen to us!” That answer surprised me. Sometimes I do not always understand what they are saying because I am so busy. But not listening? One of my children told me, “Mom you never listen to me.” Granted, I do not always hear exactly the words my children say to me, but I was surprised they all agreed I needed to be a better listener. So, I asked the Holy Spirit to be my hearing aid, helping me hear what the child is really saying and needing.
