Paul also stated in First Corinthians 9:27, “But I KEEP UNDER
MY BODY, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when
I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway (or as another
translation states, be disqualified).” Paul told us that he did something
with his body – he kept it under. This apostle who was used to
write a large portion of the New Testament still had to do something
with his body; his body still wanted to do wrong, but he didn’t let his
body rule him – he kept it under. He didn’t allow his body to rule him
and do wrong. Paul said he kept his body under so that he wouldn’t
be a castaway or disqualified.
