I am teaching my children that there are consequences for
disobedience. Sometimes that consequence is a spanking. As a
result, my children fear me. My children do not obey me out of
“honor, respect and reverence.” It is out of “fear and dread” of
what will happen if they do not obey! Understand, I do not beat
my children! I do not strike them in anger. Their fear is not fear
of torment or torture. They know I love them and it is because I
love them that I lovingly spank them. The fear they have of me
is beneficial to them. It teaches them to respect my boundaries
so when they grow up they will respect society’s boundaries and
God’s boundaries.
