I was used to wearing many hats in my life. I was
mother, wife, daughter, Bible teacher, mentor, friend,
counselor, choir director, and speaker. But when I moved
to a new state, no one knew about any of those hats. In
fact, they didn’t even know that I existed. Suddenly, I
knew no one and no one knew me. What a shock! I knew
that the move was God’s will for my life and I knew He had
a purpose which I couldn’t yet see. But, the loneliness was
still real to me. Who could I call to meet me for a cup of
coffee? Who could I tell about my grandchild’s latest stroke
of genius? Who could I share a prayer request with?
