I think most of us have had times
when we were lonely. Maybe we
were even surrounded by family or
friends and we still felt lonely. My
times of loneliness have come when
God has asked me to move away
from everything and everyone I
loved. I had to leave my children,
grandchildren, parents, and friends
and start all over. I left our home,
the sunshine, our ministries and lifelong
friends. God didn’t ask me to do
this once, but several times, and I
learned what loneliness was really
like. Before this, I always had lots of
friends and was in the center of lots
of activities. My father was the pastor
of our church, and my husband
was the Principal of the school, and
so lots of people knew me and I had
a huge network to draw from at any
time. There was always a family member or friend to get
together with whenever I desired it. There was always
someone I could turn to for support or encouragement. But
all of that changed when God moved us.
