Let me stop at this point and tell you about the lonely
eagle. There is a long period before an eagle reaches maturity
where he chooses to be all alone. During this time he
will become a skilled hunter, will live alone, and have no
nest of his own. He cannot be lured into joining other birds
because he is steadfast in his preparation for the future. It
is during this time that he learns how to handle the wind
currents which we will discuss in a future chapter. He will
live this way until he is ready to mate for life. As with
other things in his life, the lonely years are years of preparation
and maturity. They are extremely necessary for his
future success. The lonely years of an eagle give him the
experience and perspective that will last him the rest of his
life.
