I will never forget an incident that opened my eyes and
changed my heart forever.
I had been a Christian for only a short time. I was hungry for
God and wanted to spend every waking moment in church. I drove
a couple of hours from my home in San Diego to the Anaheim
Vineyard to participate in fantastic worship and hear John
Wimber speak. Unfortunately, I was still justifying and
rationalizing a lot of sin in my life, especially a wrong relationship.
I would tell myself, “God understands that I am only human,” then
I would tell Him, “Lord, You know that I’d like to obey You but I
just can’t. Besides, after everything I have done, this cannot be
that bad.”
