The things of God are not just told, they are formed, taught and directed. Our church has cultivated a youth culture where it is cool to love God. We have camps and retreats to divert the attention of our youth from the things of the world and back to the things of God. The kids have learned how to worship, to repent, and to experience reform in their hearts in the presence of their King. At a recent Future Quest youth outreach, I witnessed hundreds of youth with their hands raised up and not one of them was embarrassed in front of their friends. Another time I saw a young grandmother with her two-year-old grandchild with her hands lifted up in the air, modeling what was naturally happening to everyone around her.
