Renewing Your Mind
Our lives will equal our thought lives – good or bad. To improve
our lives, we must improve our thought lives. God has given us the
means whereby we can improve our thought lives – through renewing
our minds with the Word of God, which will transform our lives.
So the responsibility rests with us, not with God, to renew our minds.
We must take God’s Word and renew our minds, disciplining our
minds to think in line with His Word. A renewed mind is a disciplined
mind – disciplined to take on the thoughts of the Word.
And be not conformed to this world: but BE YE TRANSFORMED
BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that ye may
prove (discern) what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will
of God. (Romans 12:2) When you renew your mind with the Word
of God, this verse says that it will transform your life; your life won’t
look the same or be the same. Those who are renewing their minds
with the Word of God will live transformed lives. A transformed life
will be able to accomplish what it couldn’t accomplish before it was
transformed.

In fact, virtually any active infection in the body can be

surrounding tissues. That is why, following root canal

restore the tooth to make sure the root canal seal is

A root canal treated tooth can fail if a fracture forms in
the tooth from trauma, or if new decay compromises an
existing crown or restoration.
But, as long as a patient
receives routine treatment,
problems from a previously
treated tooth can be addressed.
Sometimes the tooth can receive
further treatment and continue to
be saved; there are also times when
a tooth does need to be extracted.

Other biblical principles that run counter to the ideas of
modern culture involve roles of husbands and wives, how
children should be parented, and the handling of finances. Some
Christians are ashamed to talk about these issues and would
rather compromise on God’s Word than look bad in the eyes of
the world.
There are translations of the Bible that purpose to soften the
miracles of Jesus because miracles are not logical. This is simply
a poorly veiled attempt to disregard portions of scripture that
offend the human mind. When Jesus walked the earth He healed
people and performed miracles. Though it offends the minds of
those who crave logic, God still heals people and performs
miracles today and that is not changed by efforts to water down
the Word of God. I am not presenting suppositions—I am
testifying to what I have witnessed. Miraculous things have
happened in our church! Miraculous events happen every day to
thousands of God’s people.

Disregarding the Word
Some Christians attempt to disregard portions of scripture
because it does not fit in with popular philosophy. They are
embarrassed by biblical principles that are culturally unpopular,
such as intolerance for homosexuality. Intolerance is not
politically correct in today’s culture. It is considered unreasonable
and discriminatory. Yet the Bible clearly states that sin is not to
be tolerated and homosexuality is sin. It is important to separate
the sin from the sinner. Intolerance for sin should not become
intolerance for the one committing the sin.

relevant. The core of that attitude is haughty and tantamount to
calling God a liar! He says that all scripture is inspired by Him
and has great value [2 Timothy 3:16-17]. He also states that His
Word has specific purposes, which will be achieved [Isaiah
55:11]. Claiming that scripture is archaic or irrelevant is
essentially discounting God’s assertions. That is a very
dangerous thing to do!
Others fear that if they read the Bible they will discover
something that requires them to make changes in their life.
That is the point! The reading of God’s Word transforms lives for
good! Whatever is given up for the sake of Jesus is well worth
the sacrifice. Ultimately there will be a gain that far outweighs
the loss.
